Isaman design, Inc. is a full service Architecture firm with offices located in San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles. Founded in 2006 by architect Bill Isaman, the firm works on a variety of projects ranging from custom residential to commercial mixed-use spaces.
With the honest approach of putting the clients and their needs first, Isaman design aims to produce thoughtfully designed spaces that cater to a variety of budgets and aesthetic preferences. With the philosophy that good design does not mean adhering to any one specific style, the team focuses on examining financial, environmental and client specific considerations with each project.
Bill loves his job as an architect and feels fortunate to work and live in beautiful San Luis Obispo, Ca. Bill grew up in construction, framing custom homes for his father’s General Contracting business – it was at that time when Bill was introduced to architecture. Though he enjoyed the challenges of building, the idea of designing structures was much more intriguing. He studied and graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, School of Architecture and Environmental Design in 1998. After working for a large architecture firm for many years, Bill decided to open his own practice in 2006.
Bill has two boys, Will and Joe, and loves spending time on the baseball and football fields with them as much as possible. He and his wife Kelly enjoy traveling and enjoying the “SLO life” with a tall glass of wine.
Leslie graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a minor in Construction Management. She loves a good wine & cheese pairing. Leslie also enjoys hands-on creative activities like helping friends and family with eclectic DIY projects and cooking/baking new delights to satisfy her husband’s southern food cravings.
Kate Taylor-Keeling graduated from the architecture program at Cal Poly and is continuing to enjoy all that the California Central Coast has to offer. An outdoor enthusiast, Kate spends her extracurricular time horse back riding, surfing, cycling and running. Her main creative outlet is photography, which she enjoys recreationally and professionally as a part time wedding and events photographer.
Karen received her bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado, Boulder and her Masters of Architecture from SUNY- Buffalo. Her love of architecture was born in 7th grade when she worked for a day in an architect’s office. Her passion for design, creative problem solving, and communication has led her successful career from New York in the Adirondacks, back to Colorado, and now to the Central Coast. She studied in Rome for a summer semester in college.
Karen recently moved to SLO with her husband and two kids from the Roaring Fork Valley. She has been practicing architecture in the Aspen area for 15 years. She feels so lucky to be raising her kids in San Luis Obispo along with the year round gardening, biking, and all the kids’ sports.
